The forested site is part of Roihuvuori's 1950-60 neighborhoods housing extension and is located between the Itäväylä and the center of Roihuvuori, less than one kilometer from the Siilitie Metro station. The approximately 4500 m2 plot is part of the residential blocks area and has two separate construction sites of 4100 sqm and 1180 sqm.
The plan is based on the spirit of Roihuvuori’s long and straight building masses as well as in the open yards. All of the permitted building volume is moved to the larger area parallel to the street. The smaller of the sites has been left free which improves the onnection to both old and future new neighborhoods.
The floor plan is a three-stage lamell house, where common spaces are located in the basement and on the first floor, ie on the yard level. The ground-level common spaces are located in the middle of the mass, forming a community square in the courtyard. Parking space is placed under the yard according to the city plan.
The number of dwellings is 67 and the average area is 63,2 m2. All apartments have a balcony or a small private yard and most apartments have their own sauna. Larger apartments are located at the ends of the lamellas opening into two or three directions and smaller apartments between them facing the the yard.
